I've spent the last two hours trying to figure out this problem, usually I succeed in figuring out a problem, but this one I've never encountered before and it is driving me insane to say the least.

Whenver I've made in edit in a page and press, "F12" it saves my edits and displays any changes in the browser.
NOW when I press "F12" a message appears and asks me if
I want to include the "dependent files" ? and then proceeds to upload as if I'm "putting" the files in remote site or something?? Needless to say, my edits weren't saved and the changes I want aren't made. I have no idea where I'm going wrong, I've tried everything. I wonder if it has anything to do with a "testing" I did while trying to upload to remote site?

I have no idea how to fix this, I'm completely stumped. In fact it is a challenge to try to explain in such a way that an expert in Dreamweaver may not know what I'm talking about. I'M FRUSTRATED, if anyone could offer suggestions or advice I'd be eternally grateful!

Thanks in advance,

Miss Swizzy

Miss Swizzy,
you say you did some "testing", have you set up a remote site for this site, i.e edit your site & then check to see what settings you have. If you do have a remote site, remove this & then try it.

As far as I am aware pressing F12 displays the page in a browser, this will then create a file called TMP..... in your root somewhere.

Give it a go & let me know what happens.

Thanks for that.

I've got almost everything put together, but now I'm afraid to define a remote site. I'm not sure what to
put for "Host Directory"

either:

/

or

public_html

or

html/

or

?? (don't know)

I never know which one to use!

I have to get w/ my computer buddy to have him explain which one to use, I don't want to make this mistake again what a mess!
