Our e-cas computer has been disconnect for months now, and I'm trying to get it back online.

It was working at one time, however these people relocated the e-cas PC and since then it hasn't been able to connect.

I found the jack it was plugged into, and traced it all the way back to a digital circuit pack. So I type "display port 01A1324" it shows PDMODULE, which I'm assuming it's the data module I'm connecting with.

I ran a "test port 01A1324" and it came back aborted, error 5 (test 17). What does this error mean?

Is there a configuration in the switch I need to enable?

Thanks everybody.

From "MAINTENANCE ALARMS FOR AVAYA COMMUNICATION MANAGER 3.0, MEDIA GATEWAYS AND SERVERS" (03-300430)

Data Module Audits Test (#17) - Error Code 5

Ringger update aborted (data module not in the in-service state)

1. Verify that the data module is powered (power LED on).

2. Make sure data module is connected to the building wiring, check for faulty wiring, check for faulty data module.

3. Retry the command at 1-minute intervals up to 5 times.

4. Replace the Data Module and repeat the test.

5. If the test continues to abort, replace the Digital Line
circuit pack and repeat the test.

What does it mean? Probably you don't have the data module physically plugged in and/or powered on. When they relocated the eCas PC, did they relocate the data module? The PC's COM port should be connected to the data module which is plugged into a jack that connects to the port you refer to.

You could look at getting CDR data via IP which eCas is capable of though probably at great cost.

IT WORKED!!

Thanks jfh9219. It turns out my data module was not in-service according to the switch, which led me to narrow it down to my data module wiring. Found the problem and fixed it.

I love this forum!
