What documents would one put together to present to management before making a network topology/structure change? I put together diagrams of before and after topology and detailed blow up versions of segments. I'm basicaly moving around VLANs and adding some, and also switch hierarchy changes too. I also want to follow these documents when implementing the change. I need it to be professional too. Any suggestions from people who do it on every day basis would be great. Thanks.

Visio Diagrams always work best. Really there is no other way to present this type of information to management on a spreadsheet type document since it will not give them the true flow of data. Stick with the Diagrams. Just my two cents on what works best for me.

Check out CCO for the Hierarchal Campus Design Documents - Cisco wording is pretty fantastic. There are loads of diagrams as well, pretty much copy these using Visio (you can download Cisco Visio icons from Cisco as well).

Andy,

I did a search on CCO for "Hierarchal Campus Design" and got 0 hits.

A search for "Campus Design Documents" came up with 210 links but was mainly focused on design and not documenting.

Do you have some specific links?
