Need Help w/ Select Expert!

well, i have this field with m,t,s that suppose to be translated into m=!, t=#, and s=* to indicate various shipping or purchase items. However, i have failed to translate those letter into the symbols by using select expert. So my question is what do i need to use in CR8.5 to translate the letters into those symbols? PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP! THANKS

can you give some more details? Do you need to replace every "m" with a "!" or what?

The select expert does not "translate" anything. It is used to select only certain records for your report.

I suspect you are talking about a formula field:

if {fieldname}="m" then "!" else
if {fieldname}="t" then "#" else
if {fieldname}="s" then "*"

Place this formula field on your report and you will see these characters instead of m, t or s Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
