Need help to fix problem
I keep getting a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error Message. The message is
"Runtime error!
Program: C...
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Unfortunately, this error message does not refer to any application. Can anyone help?

This happens on my XP Pro SP3 from today.
Goggled and tray ever found on the net, but without success

First thing I'd try is a full disk scan using chkdsk followed up with AV and spyware scan - make sure nothing's corrupt or there are any surprises

Then I'd try removing the C++ runtime, rebooting, and reloading it.

If that doesn't fix it, then I'd try reapplying SP3 other MS updates.

Do something simpler first. Clean out the temp files with CCleaner and then reboot.

All suggestions mentioned in yr posts and much more done before, but without any success.
This problem appear after I run Reg Cure trial v. Before that didn't create System Restore and as a result problem start.Admit- my mistake.
To my opinion a/m program is very dangerous in spite they say will make computer much more faster.
Only remaining way to repair damage was to reinstall whole O.S. using Acronis TI and this solved my problem.
Thanks for assistance and help

@ goombawaho,
For sure, but I keep System Restore Turned off all time, as precaution against possible collection of some malware.
Maybe this decision is bad habit , but......

I'd say that your active operating system will "collect" malware and your system restore might save your bacon, not always, but sometimes. Nice to have it available as fall back step BEFORE a reload.

Worst case scenario - system AND system restore fouled up with malware: format/reload.

But you're way ahead of most people that have no image backup.

Yep , the BackUp-Restore image operation save me many times since now and I like recommend it for all people which like to be on the safe side.
