A little while ago I was able to set up a guide on each side of the page, and then select both guides and the object(s) in between them. When all were selected I could use the align pallate to distribute them evenly across the page. Something happened, and now I cannot select the guides and objects at the same time. I can select multiple guides, but then when I try to select an object InDesign automatically de-selects the guides, and vice-versa. I have looked all over for a setting to change with no success.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm not sure how you were able to do this before, as InDesign won't allow you to select guides and objects at the same time. Doing so would be counter-productive (in most cases), since you are trying to align objects to guides.

One way to do this is select all the guides and move them numerically, then select all the objects and move them the same amount.

I am almost certain that I could do it before. I was doing a catalog page with three columns. I would place a guide at each side of the column, then an object or two (product photos) inside the column. When I would select the two guides and the objects, then use the distribute spacing feature on the align pallate, it would give me even spacing between the edges of the columns and the objects too.

I just tried it in Illustrator, and it works fine. But I'm sure I was doing the catalog pages in InDesign.

Anyway, thanks for the time!
