need help reformatting

my comp recently got hacked bad. my so called friend did it but either way i tried to reformat it and i used the floppy that the guy that built my comp gave me to use when you hit f6 to recognize the 3rd party drive, it says the SCSIDRV.sys file cannot be found, but when i go on the floppy, i see it in SCSI folder and TEXTMODE folder...what should i do?

Try copying the contents of the SCSI folder to the root (i.e. copy a:\SCSI\*.* a:\)

Try putting just the .sys files on another floppy, no folders. Is there a README (do it)?

The floppy disk could be corrupt too. You can get that driver from the PC or MB maker's website or make a new floppy from the CD that came w/ the PC or MB, look for a MakeDisk file.

i did that and it said the txtsetup.oem could not be found, so i copyed the txtsetup.oem file and pasted it in the floppy, no folder, ok it read it, then i took all the contents out of the SCSI folder and just put them in the a:\ and it said the SCSI was corrupt....so i just put the folder there with the txtsetup.oem file out and then it said the same thing SCSIDRV.sys could not be found and i had the SCSI folder there like you said

doh, thats how i did it last time, i used some files off the MB cd....ummm i cant find the files you said though

You are probably looking for the SATA drivers for you motherboard, but this is really just a guess. Do you know the make and model of your PC's motherboard?

I've been there a few times before lol
It often boils down to the incorrect driver being used or a damaged floppy disk.
Find the correct driver, extract to a good disk and bobs your uncle.

ty guys, finally got windowns installed and working on installing all my other programs, ill help others as much as i can cause i know how frustrating this can be xD
