I'm going to start off saying i'm new at this and I dont know the most about the partner systems. We have the newest VMS 7.0 system.

We have 7 lines, they are all set to the telco to roll over to the next line if the first is busy. In the phone system we need lines 1-6 to ring and go into automated attendent 1 if not answered. Line 7 needs to ring 3 times and go Directly into its own VM Box ( however I dont know how to do this)
We have 38 extensions total.

How do i make sure that line 7 rings 3 times and goes into its own mailbox. Also what mailbox do i need to assign this line to?

Thank you for the help

You decide which mailbox will cover Line 7. It can be someone's personal mailbox, or you can set up a "guest" mailbox to receive it. If you use a guest mailbox, you have to remember to check it for messages, because there is no message waiting light associated with it, without a bit more involved set up, that just confuses the situation right now.

With your VMS R7, there are 2 ways to have a mailbox answer a line. Here is the difference:

If line 7 shows up and rings on phones other than the extension that will "cover" it, and that extension uses Do Not Disturb, one way allows the line to continue ringing on the other phones before covering to voice mail, while the other way goes IMMEDIATLY to voice mail when the covering extension is in DND.

The first way is Line Ownership: Set the line as a Line Ownership in #206-7-07-3, be sure the line is on the extension whose mailbox will answer, with Immediate or Delayed ring, AND in the voice mail, navigate to the Line Ownership menu to assign the extension as the owner of the line. If the Line Owner goes into Do Not Disturb, the line will still ring at other extensions before being answered by the mailbox.

The second way is Call Coverage: Set the line as UNASSIGNED in #206-7-07-2, AND set the extension whose mailbox will cover in #208-07-(Extension Number). Again, be sure the line is assigned to the extension, and has Immediate or Delayed ringing. Do not set an owner in the voice mail. If the extension goes into DND, the line will be answered Immediately,
