you assign the group to the station?

Assigning telephones for group lists
Procedure
1. Type change station n, where n is the extension that you want to assign to the group
list.
Press Enter.
The system displays the Station screen.
2. Click Next until you see the Abbreviated Dialing area.
3. Type group in any of the three List fields.
Press Enter.
The system displays a blank list number field.
4. Type the list number in the list number field.
When you assign a group list or a personal list, you must also specify the personal list
number or the group list number.
5. Press Enter to save your changes.

as you assigned the group is it not just *80 02 xxxxxxx to program the 02 entry? and *8202 to dial it?

The *82 02 worked to successfully call list 3's Dial Code 02 entry, yep.

But when trying to program the list 3's DC 02 entry to a new number, I still get waved off...
*80 02 95 (wave off)
*80 2 (wave off)

you are using station list 2 which is group 3

Hi AvayaTier3,

Yes setting station's button to abrv-dial List:2 DC:02 works to call that number.
And also using FAC *82 works (*82 02) to call the number programed for group 3's DC 02.

However, I can't get it to work when trying to reprogram (change) the group 3's DC 02 phone number entry.
When I try *80 02 say, then try program a new number I get waved off tone.
Basically, I am trying unsuccessfully so far, to use the Abbreviated Dial - Prgm Group List Access Code: *80 to program (change) the number for group 3's DC 02 entry.
I'm able to re-program (change) phone numbers for dial code entries for personal lists, but can't seem to figure it out for group lists.

Does tracing the station while trying to reprogram that entry show anything useful?

Have you tried change abbreviated-dialing group 3 on page 1 set the Program Ext to the phones extn number

HI bignose21,

abbreviated dial group 3 does have Program Ext: set to the extension being used...and is set with

Is anyone able to please try program a group speed dial entry on their setup and see if it also doesn't work for them?
I'm beginning to think this is an Avaya bug.

Hi Sean655,

Here's the trace whilst trying to program the group speed dial entry:

I tried it and had the same issue dialing the feature access code

If as above I assigned a key to a group entry like key 4 then it could be changed using the abr-prog key and was stored in the group.

made a bit more progress so set is as above with the group against list 2 of the set

press the abr-prog key then "2 01 2000 #" get confirmation

The same does not work trying to use the feature code when dial first 2 its rejected

Thanks much for testing that bignose21!
But looks like you have assign a button group 3's dial code entry (your e.g. uses DC 01) in order to use abr-prog to change that entry.
But if I wanted to change say DC 02, which doesn't have a programmed button, then I'm not able to looks like? And if you have a lot of dial code (DC) entries, you can't program them all as buttons.
So while the abr-prog is a good workaround for small number of dial code (DC) entries, it doesn't sound feasible when you have a lot DC entries that may need to be changed.

But thank you so much for verifying that the FAC method doesn't work and appears to be an Avaya bug.
I was kind of suspecting that it was and now you've confirmed that.

Hopefully Avaya will fix some decade soon.

So deleted the key 4 on test set so now just

the pressed the abr-prog key then "2 03 2000 #" get confirmation

check of group showed config in place works for personal with abr-prog "1 01 2000#" for example also
