Need help on Nortel 4400 series

Hi,

1)What is the command to see the status of the modem connected to the Nortel 4400 series devices? For example, we want to see the status of DCD,DTR,DSR, etc....
2) How do i enable logging on the Nortel 4400 series devices? How do i see the log contents?

2) You may log over serial cable or over network using telnet? What you problem?

I am using a serial(v.35) port to connect to modem.
How do i enable logging on the Nortel box??I am already able to telnet to the box and manage it.
