need help on basic web app - getting started problems 1

xp pro iis. I have no access to my default website from my browse

I installed IIS on xp pro.

then I go into Mozilla and type and hit enter

I get prompted login and password and I put and I put it in and says it is not right. which login and password is it looking for???
 
I just though vb.net guys would also have web app experience which would often require some IIS configurations to test and devlope app. I did get a helpful answer on the asp.net forum. Thanks
 
VB.NET guys and girls may have Web experience as well. But this forum is used for VB.NET issues, not for ASP.NET discussions.
 
thanks for setting my straight. more challenging vb.net help needed soon as i embark to rewrite this vb6 app in .net. i am so thankful 2 u guys and girls for using your time and energy help people like me as i transition from technology to technolgy expecting to know all for ever changing IT needs. Last month i had to learn and design companies database in sql server.

sometimes googling every question gets lonely :)
 
yes, and that's why they refered you to the other forum if people want to do a search for an asp.net related question then they will have more luck finding it there.
