Any call that comes in on line 1 will ring twice then is re-directed to an outside line. I have gone into the system programming and 'Call forwarding-to outside line' is denied. I have also gone to each station and did a 'cancel call forwarding-to outside line (FWD/DND + 0 + #) and the calls on line one are still being transfered to an outside line (the outside line is not on the system. I have also checked that line one is not forwarded thru the C.O. I have opened up line one from the system and when I call line one, it will just ring and ring but as soon as I connect line one to the system, it will get transfered to the outside line. Any suggestions?????? I need to get this cleared up. Thanks in advance.

is the call being transfered on one of YOUR other lines?
ie: in on one out on two

I would do a power reset on this system and see if that clears up the glitch. Before turning the power off and disconnecting the power cord for 1 minute, I would replace the battery in case it is too old to retain the programming. I have defaulted these systems before by not changing the battery first prior to doing a power reset. Is there a voicemail on this system? Have you switched the dial tone to a spare c.o. port yet? I would try that and program line one button to be whatever line number you switched it to and do some testing to see if the problem follows the dialtone or if the problem is actually in the ksu. Good luck...

In response to Troski, the number that is being transfered to is the fax number for this business. The fax number is not on the system and is on its own iw not even goin close to the system. If I pull the jumper on line one at the demark and call it, it will just ring and ring but as soon as I re-connect to the ksu, it transfers to the fax line. It is not forwarded in the co.
For ravenz5, there is no VM. As I posted above, the line being forwarded to is actually the fax line in the same business and is not connected to the ksu at all.
Last night, while lying awake and thinking about this, I had a thought(dangerous). I do not normally work on Panasonic ( LOVE Norstar)and do not want to, but got in on this one on referral. I was wondering if this ksu supports analog phones? I have the manual and will check. If so, someone could have moved the fax to another jack that is connected to the system, the port is set to ring and the fax is picking up??? I visually traced the IW the fax is on but did not tone it, which I should have done to prove the fax IS pluged into the correct jack. I will head back down there this afternoon to check out this idea. Thanks for your input.

you might get better response in the panasonic forum here

I'm thinking your problem is related to Telco call forwarding and not system call forwarding

try unplugging line one and see if it still forwards

system does support anlog so it is possible that the fax is plugged in a system port and the fax is answering rather than the line being forwarded .

again easy enough to test , unplug the fax and call line one

If the fax machine is set up as an extension then you will need to I.D. what extension number it is and program c.o. one not to ring to that extension in day and night riging.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made a cardinal mistake.............I took what the customer told me to be correct. The fax was not what was causing the problem. I determined that after further testing this morning. What I found was a time clock plugged into a station port. It had a modem inside and it is what was answering. I corrected this problem by removing the station port and placing the correct, dedicated phone number to the jack. Problem solved. Seems like the time clock installer thought this jack had regular dial tone. Man, I learned just one more thing this morning! Thanks for all the replies, as they were all helpful.

Never believe a customer, If they knew what they where doing they wouldn't call a tech.
