Need help migrating e7 micros to a newer OS

Guys,

I have an e7 POS system at a restaurant and the server is running on XP which is obviously a problem for various reasons.

I have a Windows 7 Pro machine setup and in situ. I am looking for help backing up the existing system and migrating it to the new hardware.

I have no experience with this so I'm hoping someone would be interested in assisting remotely for a fee.

I would also like to change the network subnet in this office so some minor reconfiguration will be involved.

Its actually fairly straight forward.

Just install the E7 software on your new Windows 7 machine using all the default settings. Then copy the DB folder from your old installation and overwrite the new one.
Take the old pc off the network and rename your new PC's host name to be the same as the old one.
Restart the PC and Start E7 on the server.

Done!

Thanks very much for your input.

I will try what you suggest. The problem is that I will also have to migrate / install the credit card module (net epay) but perhaps their support will be more helpful than Oracle!

Fortunately, if it goes badly I can just turn on the old server.
