I just inherited a Merlin Legend with an Integrated Solution III voice mail system on a facility move. Through the help of this forum, I was able to log into the Merlin with WINSPM 6.0 using the ADMIN port.

But how do I get into the IS-III Console login and password? I can change the password in Merlin, but does it use the same one? Can I reset it?

The IS-III has a IVP-4 board with 4 phone lines connected. There was also a Serial connector plugged-in, but not hooked up. Should that also go the the ADMIN port?

Thanks for any help on this.

Thanks, but pizza did not work. Is there a way to Reset the password? Is there a backdoor into it?

Do I need the Serial port connected? To where? How can I get in from the WINSPM Pass-Thru mode? Thanks.

The default password is "p1zza" (note the 1 and not an i"

If you are going to use SPM or WinSPM to access the system remotely, you'll need the connection from the admin port on the Merlin processor to the IS III. Using the PassThru option, login, when prompted for Terminal Type, enter "ams".

Thanks for the helps, but pizza or p1zza are not working. I figured out how to do the pass-thru, but I will still need the login password to get in.

Looks like the password has changed and nobody knows what it is. Does anybody know how to RESET the password on the IS-III?

try logging in as "is", usually it doesn't have a password

No, "is" still asks for a password. I tried all known passwords for both "is" and "maint", still no luck.

Thanks a lot guys for trying to help. But so far I have tried all combinations of the login and passwords suggested with no success.

The only piece of information I had to go with on this IS-III was a note saying :
Login : MAINT
Password : GIANTS

I have tried all combination of the above, lower and upper case, and 5 letters GIANT instead of 6 letters. Also tried GIANTS with all login suggestions, still no luck. Any other suggestions?

just a thought but try :

login: craft
password: crftpw

if the password was changed there is no hope or help, Avaya stopped supporting them a long time ago and unless you can find a tech that knows the root password then you could just gut it and fill it with cement and use it for a door stop or something. (not trying to be mean), I have had a lot of customers I had to tell this too. Avaya did this to push their newer systems on you.

Okay, here are the logins you want to target:

root, is, maint

try these passwords:
root, is, maint, system25, system75, password

Might want to tack a 1 at the end of each, just for luck.
