Hello,
I have purchased a Legend 7 system and merlin Mail Rel3 for my Real Estate office. I had installed a Merlin classic previously and had no issues. This system however is much more complex. I was able to install the system and it works fine. The VM is not working and the call groups and lists are not setup yet.
Here are some questions:

How do I locate a professional in RI to help set this system up?
What should I expect to pay for this type of service?
Should I pay for over the phone instruction?

Also,
I have the 2 ports on the merlin mail connected to the 012 card with the regular phone wire with modular plugs. They fit , but it seems the plug recepticles are for the cat 5 style wire. Is this the way its done?

You can look in the yellow pages. If you are familiar with the use and features of the phone and just need programming, there are any number of people from this forum that could program the system remotely.

As far as the Connections you asked about, yes, that's how it is done.

(RJ 11 Cords into what looks like RJ45s)

Some, or most of what you need done in the way of programming can be done remotely. (By dialing into the system.)

Merlinman,
How do I choose someone to do this for me? I would assume it will need routine maintainance and repair. What's the going rate for this type of service?

As long as all the connections are made and you could possibly work on any troubles on site for the tech, the system can be finished up remotely.

Going rate all depends on where you're located. I'm located in NY and the rates down here are a lot more than places outside the 5 boros I've noticed.

KILLBOX

Killbox,
I have contacted someone locally. I'll post the outcome for information purposes. I'm assuming on site tech will run me 60 an hour at least.

Ok,
I called a local tech told me he knows the sysem but did not feel comfortable working on it?
I read every post in this forum and several coffees later i saw a similar problem solved with board renumbering. I also tested the 012 board with an analog phone and discovered it was dead.
The board renumber allowed the processor to recognize the MMVM.
I was given an invalid password, but read somewhere here on how to reboot/trick it with a short pass to get in.
Now i'm in and setting up mailboxes.
Merlinman was kind enough to allow me to email him some further questions.
I would like to thank all that resonded here for your help, and wish you a very happy new year.
