Just switched jobs where I worked 14+ years with an Avaya switch/setup/reports etc. The company I work for now has a Nortel/Meridian setup. I know NOTHING about this! Is there some type of comparison somewhere I can try to relate to?

For example; we have a secretary that keys in A LOT of numbers from daily reports. In an Avaya environment, I was able to use Access as a front end, pull data directly from the CMS tables and then customize reports from there. I have 4 manuals that I am starting to sift through and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction!

Any help would be appreciated greatly!!

not even close.. the norstar programming is closer to the avaya then the merridian.. what 4 manuals? there are 40 plus manuals, the best one to start with is software input/output guide book one of three and a 3 vol set called software feature guide.

what type of reports.. and what switch, mail, symposium, miran, mica etc will determine options you have to play with.

John, I apologize I didn't clarify more ... I am not a "telephony" person, more of an analyst ... we use Symposium ... that's where most of my questions lie

The only manuals that they had onsite were "Nortel Networks Symposium Call Center Server-Historical Reporting", "Nortel Networks Symposium Call Center Server-Supervisor Guide". I'm having to learn about the configuration on the switch as well as learn how to report out of it. My main concentration is to eliminate a lot of the needless work by our secretary. She runs like 20+ reports daily and rekeys a lot! I would like to pipe into Symposium and download (like Access) the data and develop like a wharehouse. That's my goal. I was pretty proficient in how to accomplish this with Avaya, but its WAY different with Symposium.
