I'm trying to figure out what programming language a web "applet" was written in. I thought it looks like it's calling an applet named "DesignApplet". I want to have something similar coded for my site, and couldn't find anything by looking through the source. Any help would be appreciated.

Being a programmer, does what they have there strike you as technically challenging? I'm wondering how difficult (expensive) it would be to have something similar developed. I wanted to expand on their idea and add control for letterheight amongst a few other things.

I've no idea - I'm not a Java programmer. You might get better luck asking this in the Java forum - Java and JavaScript are by no means the same langauge.
