What type of SCSI interface would I use to connect my host to a A1000 also, how to telnet or connect to A1000 using Raid Manager (Do I have to configure an IP for A1000)?

Thanks,

Stickybit.

What type of HOST is yours?
If its SUN then, you can use Differential SCSI Card or UltraWide SCSI Card.

Also for RAID Configuration and other disk related configuration you can use Raid Manager 6.22

-------

If you do know how to add disks to SUN boxes please proceed with that first before going for Raid Manager Software. The Disk Should be configured and accessible as standalone disks.

The A1000 is not a jbod, it is a hardware based RAID device. There are several HBA's that can be used depending on your host (SBUS, PCI). Check A1000 docs for part numbers.

You will need to install the latest rm6 packages. During the installation of this package, initial configuration will be done for you. Once rm6 is installed, you can use the rm6 GUI to configure your LUNS and present these to your OS or volume management software. Important to check patches and firmware on the host and array. Check firmware matrix from sunsolve.sun.com for the A1000.
