Hi, can someone give me a good definition of what each counter means and how it relates to a PRI or T1.

Thank you!

PRI LOOP 18
TRSH CNT:
BPV -000
SLIPD -008
SLIPR -000
CRC -000
LOSFA -000
OS_BPV -000
OS_LOSFA-000
OS_YEL -000

BPV = BiPolar Violation
SLIPD = Slip Deletions
SLIPR = Slip Repetitions
CRC = Cyclical Redundancy Check
LOSFA = Loss of Frame
OS_BPV = Out of Service Bipolar Violation
OS_LOSFA = Out of Service Loss of Frame
OS_Yellow = Out of Service Yellow Alarm

Someone can verify these and give you a good definition or contact your carrier to explain ;)

Thanks for the info! What I'd like to know is what the errors mean in terms of what state the circuit is in. Or, what can I glean from these errors to know what the C.O. is up to and where a failure may be.

Thanks again!

You will often see slips, which are not as bad as Loss of frame.

If you have multiple circuits, you might see a slip or LOF on 1 or many. If it is 1 circuit is might be an issue with that circuit, but if you see multiple circuits with the same error then you know thats the CO, getting them to admit a problem is another issue lol

Also check your clock's. SSCK 0 or 1. Also a tech somewhere along the line could have "touched" the pairs either physically or thru a DAC. Again I been to a SLI hut and seen the wrong card removed because of someone reading the wrong "LEN" etc. So if you clear the error and it does nor come back, no need to worry.

Thank you, John the Phoneguy and rkdavis! And, yes, it is always a hassle getting the CO to admit they are the source of the problem. Also a hassle finding just the right tech in the CO that knows HOW to fix the problem.

do you only have 1 T? It's not hard if you flip, the pbx doesn't care what circuit is coming in. It will follow the T, or stay on your original PRI card.

This site has 6 PRIs. I've worked on this stuff for years now and never read or heard a formal explanation of what these counters are telling me in regards to what state the circuit is in. Thanks to you all for the info.

The more I know, the more I can snowball the customer ;-)
