I am using 6.61 Build834SP2A on an NT 4.0 SP6A server. I am unable to see files under Session or Tree in Restore Window. My backup requires two tapes per night. I backup 2 million+ files at 117+ GB. At one time I was able to drill down to the file level, but not anymore.

I did notice the following information when I click on a session in my restore window. For Session Flags it has the following information: Registry/Bindery, Drive, Agent, Catalog, No.

Does this have anything to do with not seeing individual directories or files under the Session?

I have followed previous postings on not seeing files under Session or Tree restores. Those suggestions have not helped to this point. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Did you check carefully all of the patches? You want to apply ALL patches that apply for your systems, dated AFTER sp2a...

What kind of Arcserve database are you using? Standard RAIMA, VLDB RAIMA or SQL? How BIG is the Arcserve database? How much FREE SPACE is on the drive with the Arcserve database? Did the Arcserve database driver ever run short on space? The database may be corrupted...

Arcserve, Database manager, will tell your database type - I believe VLDB was optional in 6.61, did you ever UPGRADE from the old RAIMA to the VLDB database? Old RAIMA corrupts easily, VLDB is great, it is the new Arcserve DB in AS2000.

Are the jobs options set up for DETAILED database recording?

Where in the job setup is the option for detail recording? I can't find it.

Thanks.

Hello,
This answer is:

Arcserve Manager,

Manage backup,

Options (this is the finger pointing to shapes on the top line),

Operation (tab),

Database (at the bottom of the tab),

Record detail information (radio button)
