I have a Samsung CD-Rom SC-152C and i need drivers for DOS!
i have been lookin at Samsungs homepage(s) but i've been unable to find anything there!

And i also have a problem with my fan (dont know witch one) sometimes when i turn my PC on or use it for a while the fan sounds like a chainsaw! or more like a hammer AND a chainsaw... dumdumdudmdumdumdumd BVVVVVRRRRMMMM dumdum BVRRRRRM... why does it do that? it's supposed to be EXTRA QUIET!!!

please help!

If you have a windows boot disk,you can try booting with it and see if it finds the cd-rom. If it does, then use the driver on the boot disk. Modify the config.sys and autoexec.bat files to reflect it.

CONFIG.SYS

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICEHIGH=C:\yourcdrom.sys /D:mscd001

AUTOEXEC.BAT

LH C:\WINDOWS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:mscd001

I have an MS-DOS boot disk with some generic CD-ROM drivers for SCSI and IDE CD-ROMS, which will work with almost all CD-ROM drives.

I can send this to you if you like - just provide your Email address.

You can then extract the entries you need from the boot disks config.sys and autoexec.bat files, and copy the mscdex.exe file, and the CD-ROM driver, to your hard drive (assuming you need to use it automatically when you boot to DOS, without need of the boot disk). [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

The fan probably has bad bearings and needs to be replaced. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

ok...mainegeek...could u take that alittle slower...not that good at this ;P

and nobrain...
my fan is less then a year old! how come it broke down that quickly?

It could be a manufacturing defect or cheap sleeve bearings that don't last long. Sometimes things just break. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

Do you have an operating system currently installed
ie: Windows3.1, 95, 98,? And/or are you planning on installing one? And/or are you just going to install Dos?

dhawthorn: Hi,I would like a copy of that MS-Dos boot disk with some generic CD-ROM drivers for SCSI and IDE CD-ROMS. Thank you for the support. gypsy200
