Newbie... Can anyone give me some clear concepts on how data sessions work and how they relate between forms and their DataEnvironments? I saw a post earlier this week that shed "some" light on data sessions but I couldn't find it again. A clear view of the landscape would be great. Thanks. If you are using the default of one public datasession, there is no difference between VFP and what you may be used to.

Private datasessions give VFP developers the ability to truly encapsulate their forms (among other things). That means you could have 7 occurences (instantiations) of your Customer form, and each can act independently. Each form would have its own private copy of the tables you open (in a manner of speaking), its own private memvars and SET settings, and so forth.
