Need Blank Record To Show Up In DataWindow

I have nested datawindow that is linked to the primary one by user_id. Both are tables.

The problem is that if there are no information in the child datawindow, nothing shows up. I would like the fields to show up so the user can enter data into them.

How do I get a blank record to show up in the child datawindow for user entry?

dw_child.InsertRow(0) should do the trick.

What you need to do is go to the SQL view of the datawindow and then click on the join. When the join window opens select the join that says: = table_1.user_id = table_2.user_id and rows from table_1 that have no table_2

This should fix your problem and still list data from the first table even if there is no data entered in the child table. Hope this helps
