Hi,

I have 15 client and a file server. I want to get backup of user documents everyday to my file server. I want all documents will be on file server and user pc's. I open folders for user on my file server and map that folders to user desktop. How can I replicate user everyday both folder with each other. It should be automatic. User not sense that. I need a simple and effective way.

Server: win2003
Client: win2000 pro , Win XP pro
all user has about 1 gb documents.

Thank you for your advice...

User redirection via Group Policy would be your best bet.

This way My Documents etc. will actually be going to the server rather than the client.

Ask in the Windows 2003 Server forum for more info.

Or you can share the Docs folders of each user and backup via the network places. But that would depend on the backup software. I suggest "STOMP Backup my PC 6.0" for small stuff. That way you don't need to worry about licences for multiple PC's. Maybe Backup Exec (more money) will do it without extra seats, I haven't tried that one for backing up just restores (I'm a data miner, I restore data most of the time).

Good Luck!
