Is there a free and easy way to get stats and/or graphs on the backups?
I am looking for backup times, lengths, weekly tape usage, and size..

thanx in advance!

Maybe with nsradmin ... but it won't be easy.

Or "simply" using default log files and managing them with "tail/grep/awk...." commands.

You could use "nsrmgr" from Koshume.
It has a free and licensed version for analyzing Legato Networker.
See

NW 7 allows you to format the mminfo output in character separated value (CSV) format that makes it easy to import
such reports in a database or an Excel spreadsheet where
you can process this further.

I'm running 6.1 on Solaris.

I have 16 drives (DLT & SDLT) DDS shared by 6 clients, giving 96 virtual tapes. Reading the daemon.log file was pretty difficult, so I wrote a script to 'draw a picture' in html of 'what happened last night'.

This saved me a heck of a lot of time manually parsing the log.

Gary.
