I received the F1 to F5 Meridian Mail key mappings from great techs here at Tek-Tips. I tried mapping them in the Powerterm terminal emulator that I have been using for Meridian Option 11c maintenance and configuration. I know that the key codes are correct, however they aren't working. It looks like there is more going on under the wraps with the Procomm terminal emulator than just the function codes.

I contacted Powerterm and they asked if I could get a capture log of the F1 to F5 keys. They have a simple downloadable capture log tool.

Can you help to download the capture log tool and take a scan while hitting the F1 to F5 keys on your Procomm terminal emulator?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi,
Wow, thank you. Here is what Ericom wrote in their response.

You will need to use our GW tool which can be downloaded from:

ftp://support:ericom@ftp.ericom.com/Tools/GW/GWGUI.zip

The ZIP file contains a PDF with steps on how to use the GW tool.

For some reason, when I post the link above, it prepends the following: ericom@ftp.ericom.com/Tools/GW/GWGUI.zip" target="_blank">

You will need to delete this and just cut and paste the rest of the link to get the download.

Yeah, I really like their Powerterm tool, and would like to continue using it. Also, it would make a nice alternative for other techs.

Hi Ghtrout,

Thank you for your assistance! I really appreciate your help!

I have given up on Ericomm's Powerterm. I requested additional help from Ericomm's tech support Abraham. I stated that the capture he sent was for IP, and not RS232. He never responded. :-(

... and so, Ericcomm's Powerterm is way more trouble than it is worth. I ordered a copy of Procomm Plus. There has got to be a reason why all of the Nortel techs are using it.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again,

Joe
