Hello guys. I really want to thank you again for your help solving some of my previous problems with Premier. I am absolutely thrilled and fascinated with studying and learning video editing.
As I have mentioned earlier, I have been slugging it out with not only an old version of Premier (6), but an older Celeron Processor, 37gbs of harddrive (which I have found is not enough), and only 352megs of RAM. I HAVE HAD IT!
I am going to go off the deep end and upgrade everything.
I have already purchased Premier Pro 2. I also purchased a Pinnacle (external) video capture device. Neither of these two things work worth a damn with my compu system,so I am going to invest in a new compu.
I am going to buy a money-is-no-object system, and built for the sole purpose of editing videos.
In talking to people, I find there are several options when considering which component parts to buy. Here's what I've got in mind:
PROCESSOR
Core 2 DUO E6300 1.86GHZ (or)
One of the several big Pentiums
HARDDRIVE
I figure I want at least 80gbs
RAM
At least 1gb, or would one card of 1gb + another of 512meg be a lot faster?
VIDEO ACCELERATOR CARD
I have no ideas here- need some suggestions
Can I get some input from you masters on the above? I certainly don't want to invest this kind of money and then have people tell me- "Oh, you should have bought this one instead of that one, it would have made a big difference".
Any/all advice will be be GREATLY appreciated!
Paul
