need advice fitting a 15G hdd into a Celeron366

I tried to boost a Celeron 366 from a 2.4G to a Fireball lct15 hdd. Set the bios to auto and it sees the disk size. Reloaded win98, it stalls at the end loading drivers and boots blue.
A little advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mybe you need to update your BIOS?
Try your motherboard mfr. for updates.

I have the BIOS identifying numbers as follows:
67-0816-001437-00101111-071595-ALi1621
which makes it pcchips.
I was hoping to see 1437 as a motherboard number but no such luck.
So if anyone knows the cross reference here or the BIOS to use pls reply.
