Hello all-

Hope everyone is staying cool (from NY and it's burning outside!! -ugh)

I am upgrading our citrix servers from Office 2000 to Office 2003. My users are using Outlook via these Citrix servers and I'm concerned that when I install Office 2003, certain profile paths will change.

I.E, - the actual office suite installation files which includes everything is on n:\program files\microsoft office\office... this is under Office 2000 on the citrix server..

I'm concerned what will happen when I install Office 2003 on Citrix.. Is there an already created vb script out there that I can place as a login script and/or group policy that would allow is functionality to remain as is?

Any support would be great and will be much appreciated

For mass deployment of Office I would use AD/GPO delivery. Refer to my FAQ faq96-4996.

For your Citrix Servers however I would just install by hand. How many Citrix Servers do you have that you wish to automate the install? I would manually install 1 or 2 a night and you will probably be done within a few days.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Hi Mark,

yes sir.. it's only a few servers that need the upgrade, so the "by hand method" shall be the way.

Thanks again for all your support

Not sure if you already figured this out, but take a look at the ORK (office resource kit), most of what you are talking about can do that

I have several Citrix servers and have used the ORK

this allows you to sut up the default options (like removing the little paper clip interupting you with "I see you are trying to write a letter..."

you can then set up an ini file with all the licence info and paths to supplementry installation actions. There is a small utility that can then be used to produce a shortcut with all the relevent arguments. this speeds the whole process up no end.

Hope this helps.
