I'm very good in Access but I'm having a problem. I have a form that takes in data about a person's case, i.e. OS, Language etc...via combo boxes. I then save the inof in a table, no problems yet. In my form all the drop downs have the correct values in them etc.... After I save them to my table then values in the table have the ID number (which isn't the Primary Key, the name of the field in the combo box is) not the english explanation. No if I delete the ID numbers, which causes no problems, the the values in my fields are blank but they are really there, I can choose them and they show correctly in my Table. What do I have mixed up?

Hi!

Sounds like you need to check the bound column property of the combo box. This property tells Access which field from the combo box to store in the table and which field is considered to be the value of the combo box. If that doesn't help, then post some more info like the control source and the row source of the combo box.

Thanks, Ya i have that correct the contorl source is where it going and theRow source is where to take the values from. for instance in a tabel I have two columns ID and OS
ID (vertically) 1,2,3,4 OS's (vertically) Win 95, Win 98, Win 2000, Win Xp. Now in my form I choose Win 95, but in the back end table it display's 1?? It's aggravating me, and wouldn't be a big deal but I'm trying to create reports off this table and I am getting 1's and 2's etc...instead if there real values.

Hi again!

On the property sheet, look at the bound column. It probably says 1, it should be 2.
