Hi All,

I'm starting to design a website for somebody and their logo is done in Comic Sans. Does anybody know of any fonts that would go well with it for images etc? I'd ordinarially use verdana, arial etc for text and I quiet like Dicot Medium for any images that contain text. But I don't think Dicot Medium would work well with Comic. Any suggestions?

Also, if anybody knows of any good multimedia / interactive websites I'd appreciate it. I'm finding it hard to find any on the web and I need some inspiration

Thanks all

Hi there,

standard rule of thumb when creating any kind of document is not to use any more than two font styles, one sans-serif one serif; or two different sans serifs. you've got to take into consideration what font you decide to use. it has to be interpreted by both pac and macs. georgia is often used as it can compliment many fonts. one thing you shouldn't do is use two fonts that are practically identical!

I think comic and verdana work pretty well together. They're both soft sans fonts. Comic is just a bit softer and more casual. Don't know if they are close enough to be "practically identical."

The arial, etc. part wouldn't be so good but if someone doesn't have verdana, they probably won't have any more esoteric font you might find.

Imho you generally shouldn't use serif on web pages. It's easier to read on the printed page but harder on screen.

I'd say verdana is usually best unless you have a really good reason to use something else.
