I need to explain how Microsoft determines the date fields listed in the document properties: Created, Modified, Printed and Accessed.
The documentation I have found simply states that they are simply what they say they are (i.e. Created is the date that the document was created, Modified is the date the document was last modified, etc.). I know, however, that this simplistic description is not entirely accurate. I have documents that show a created date of February, 2003 and a modified date of December, 2002. How is a document modified before it was created?
I can make assumptions, but I could really use a more definitive explanation. If anyone knows of a resource that outlines it specifically, that would be great, but I would welcome anyone’s individual explanation. Thanks.
