See the posts on this forum as regards SDK98 and SDK99 with Win2000 and WinXP it seems to work ok in a lot of cases
no worse than OfficeXP anyway

I got my copy through eBay at a really reasonable price. We have multiple sustems in our household, both laptops (Thinkpads) and desktops. All have W2K Pro installed and also SK99. The only problem we had was with the install on one desktop where it said there was a previous version that needed to be uninstalled. There was a post on the Starfish site that solved the problem. Sidekick99 is running great on all four systems now. (Now we need a way to access a common data base or sync the data beyween the various computers.
First Backup backup Backup all your Data (see Starfish site) Before you do any of the following:
You can then set profiles to back up Cardfiles/calendars/Write files etc from 1 computer on a network to another. As long as the cardfile is not the active one on the recipient machine!!!
If you get any corruption in the display of the cardfile on the recipient machine CLOSE IT WITHOUT SAVING.
The other thing you can do is Merge cardfiles but the one that you wish to merge with the Open/Active one has to be closed!!!
In the case of Write files copy all 4 files including the Tmp file created whilst it is running.
If you can get a copy of Internet Sidekick from anywhere you can Synchronise any CardFile and I believe Calendar File across a network.
Hope this gives you some ideas, but as I said: BACKUP FIRST
Dear fastmover,
Well done it would never have occured to me to try to see that.
But I think the year is 2030...
I hadn't noticed that and it is the same in Sidekick95 and Sidekick98!
I remember a bit of info from somehere that mentioned a problem with Unix too at that time.
But I can't remember the actual problem, anyone else got the answer?
It's certainly a problem if your appointments go that far ahead and I don't want to dismiss it, remember the Millenium minus one.
Well I hope the recompiling of Sidekick is complete by then!
Seriously though now that we know that is ahead, we must redouble our efforts to find a suitable replacement.
HTH
