If anyone knows where I can purchase a copy of MAT for the Option 11C can you please let me know.

MAT is a crappy software and nortel doesnt sell it anymore ... it is replaced with the OTM

check out ebay ..i'd suppose someone might be having one to sell
make sure you get the security lock/ keycodes ....

Wolfi24,

I don't know what version of MAT I need or want. I have never worked on a Nortel switch before, have Avaya, Rolm and Siemens experience. I am trying to get a handle on programming the Nortel Option 11C and my new company does not want to send me to training. With the research I have done I find that the MAT or OTM software will give me a more understandable programming language.

Yes I do still want the software.

Thanks

Buy OTM. MAT was a horrible platform.

Not that OTM is all that great, it's just better than MAT ever dreamed of being.

Arch

Archibald,

Now that you helped me find the release level of my software, do you have any idea if OTM will work with release 22 on the Option 11c?

Leenie P [gorgeous]

According to 553-3001-230.30.00:

OTM 2.0 supports the following systems:
• Succession CSE1000 Releases 1.0 - 2.0
• Meridian1 Options 11C, 51C, 61C, 81, and 81C running X11 Releases19-25.40
etc. etc. etc....

So I'm going to say "yes, that'll work"

Anyone know differently?

Unless you need special reporting functions, try using command line directly to the switch. Not that hard. I am sure everyone here on TekTips will help out with questions. There are also some other folks here on TekTips that have posted some nice "getting started" links. Maybe they will do that again for you, or you can search the posts.

Oh definitely, I agree. Command line is the best way to go. But should you wish to purchase MAT or OTM, OTM is my choice.

Arch

Archibald and Arch,

I would use the command line programming too but there are NO manuals here so I thought the MAT Or OTM would be easier to figure out. I did find a link today with a short tutorial and was able to create my first analog station, now I just need to figure out how to determine were my TN is wired on the frame so I can cross connect it. Haven't figured out what cables go with what superloops, shelf, card, etc.

Thanks for all the info. I just feel so unknowing which is weird after 18 years in system admin. All that time and I've never had a Nortel switch. [surprise]

Wolfi

Wolfi,

I'll talk to the boss and see what they are willing to spend, do this come with the keys etc?

Leenie P [gorgeous]

I believe MAT needs a hardware dongle to run, make sure you get it with the software.

Yes ; I have Mat complete , with Hard Key and keycode in your envelope.

Wolfi

leeneip, if you're not familiar with meridian, why would you want to complicate matters by trying to use MAT/OTM? Check out the MAT/OTM user docs before you purchase. Must who purchase don't use it anyway.
