Hi,

I am doing a Disaster Recovery exercise and need to know what we would need to beef up an existing M8x24 switch with a M0x16 attached so that we can deliver 200 extensions. We will not require direct dial to extensions. Any one help?

Kind of what I thought but not being a comms chap just needed to know. What is the best we could get in terms of extensions?

The maximum number of station ports you can get out of a 8x24 is 120 (24 on the KSU plus 6 station modules x 16 ports eacy) . This is assuming you have a 6-port copper expansion card with six M0x16 modules and no Trunk Modules.

Hope this info helps.

Thank you both, this nails it for me. Back to the drawing board :-(

You can upgrade to a MICS 0x32 with rel 7.0 XC softare, 2 6-port fiber expansion cards and 12 M0x16 mods to get up to 224 extensions. You can reuse all existing telephones. This limits your trunk configuration to the two slots in the KSU (T1 or POTS lines)

Humm! still looks like a large expense, but worth investigating. Many thanks.

Cheap compared to the cost of the telephone sets themselves.
