I am missing something.

I picked up a new client who had moved into a building which included an NEC2000IPS. Previous Tech rebooted to scratch and built it very nicely to their needs.

His communication and follow-up were dismal, so they found me. My follow-up is great ;0

One of the last things to fine tune is:

All CO's answered by AutoAttnd.
Press 1 for Service
Press 2 for CSR
1=UCD Grp. Pilot 380, virtual members 301, 02-03-04-05
2=UCD Grp. Pilot 390, virtual members 310, 312-13-14-15
Lines appear and ring on Service members (X200, 201 202 etc.)
Same for CSR.

They want unanswered calls to go to a Mailbox after 5 rings.
Preferrably a Virtual (no mswg) but an actual instrument
might work.

can this be done just with creating 2 new virtuals (one for each UCD) then forward that to VM?
Or do I need to do VM programming also?

Is there a place in UCD programming that forwards the whole group or do I manually forward each UCD member to VM
or to this New VM virtual? And set for 5 rings not 4 like the rest of the company.

Build a VM box to match the pilot number, then FWD the pilot to the VM. Either place the pilot on a Lk of a phone to do the FWD, or use CMF E6XX in the MOC mode.

I believe you can just place a call forward on the pilot of the UCD group to achieve this.

Xclnt Ozzie and Beleveder

Obviously I would like to avoid firing up my Windows 3.0
86 laptop to connect to VM.

Though I don't think VM Admin can create a mailbox.

And Ozzie, "place a call forward on the pilot of the UCD group " ....is that in the UCD programming? I didn't notice anything like that
Or: "use CMF E6XX in the MOC mode."

THANKS

Cmd E6xx is the one but you have to do it to the pilot station of the UCD group.

Amy Rook Where Are You??

I was out there yesterday.

In E602 "None" was programmed, so I entered VM Pilot#
Tested....after about 7 - 8 rings it went to the Main Greeting (MG).
And since I got the MG, it seemed to indicate NO mailbox for UCD (x380) was built.

The client said that's what they got last week, which started this whole quest. HUH?

So the UCD Pilot is Looping back to the Main Greeting.
NOT because I put it in, in E6xx,
but thru something else.

I am heading out with my laptop and that "special" NEC serial cable to Build the mailbox (x380) and take it from there.
I looked in UCD programing but I do not see anyhing that tells it where to go if No Answer.

Oh, and this is fine tuning an Install (previous copmpany defauled system for new client)...not a Service issue, ie; "it dosen't overflow any more".

Any ideas ??
Or should FWD (E6xx) to a working Mailbox solve it?

Thanks all.

Well, the Mailbox idea did not work.

Existing:
all lines answered by AutoAttend main greeting ($MG)
Press 1 for tech 2 for csr
In VM: 1 = Transaction box 380 (also UCD pilot)
2 = Transaction box 390 (also UCD pilot)
When unanswered, went back to the $MG

I had to delete the Transaction boxes in order to remake them VM mailbox. still recalled to $MG....indicating no UCD "pilot#" info being transmitted, to take it to Box 380. The recall is from the individual Ext. #'s in the group.

Normal UCD has an extension per person, this Co. has a pool of six #'s IN the UCD group, ring and appear on all agents, who have their own Ext. #.
So recall is from 301 - 302 - etc.
Since there isn't those individual boxes, it plays $MG
on recall

Had to put back Transaction Box (of amy ronk), the only way to dial 1 and get to UCD.
Then I created a Virtual ext, 399, put Tech Greeting on it. I forward, NA, the UCD members, (E602) to 399, it worked pretty good.

It does say, before transfer, "the party your trying to reach, Amy Ronk, is unavailable" then goes to Mbox 399.
I couldn't see where to change that greeting for Amy.
Default is Ext. 696, but won't let me access That greeting
(9-696). so in VM setup page, I erease the 3 second Name on the screen so now it just says: "the party your trying to reach,, is unavailable" then goes onto TechBox 380

Actually sounds seemless and makes sense during the day if they don't get to a call.

But definitely just making the UCD number a Mailbox, didn't help. Because of recall? because it was a recall from a member extension with no box?

Just thought I'ld post what I found.
Never saw anything in UCD programming about forwarding "on" or recall to somewhere.

You have really "Over-Enginneered" a Simple answer. Most PBX and Voice Mail integration key off of the first number dialed and that ID is carried thru-out the entire sequence. What you do is in the auto-attendant, Have your (1) key dials transfer to a Non-Equipt single line (not virtual) port. Call-Forward all calls the Non-equipt single line to the UCD Pilot. Create a MB for the Pilot of the UCD. Call -Forward No-Anser the UCD Pilot back to Voice Mail. Make the Voice Mail box a T-Box of whomever needs to here the Messages (Voice mailbox). If No greeting is recorded, the "Voice Name" of the owner is always played

Interesting, voipster.

However.....no single line ports!! not even a card.

You wrote:

Make the Voice Mail box a T-Box
didn't quite understand that. The last mailbox mentioned (transaction or T-box) is what/who? UCD pilot? you said create that as a mailbox.

Moot since no single line equipped?

Not Moot, build the analog ext into a port up new then len of your voicemail pilot. Look and see what your voicemail pilot is and build the analog next to the VM pilot location. What he does not want you to do is build it as a virtual number using the virtual extension. Everything else is correct from him. the T-Box is the same as a Transaction box.
