NEC VMS question

Have a VMS on a IPK II system. When customers call into the AA, and dial a extension, about every third time the system says, "I didn't hear that command" or something similar to that. Is there an adjustment that can be more sensitive to touch tones, or what are your suggestions... Thanks !!!
 
I have never run into that issue. The only time the voicemail normally says "I am sorry but I did not hear your selection" is if they are trying to dial an extension that doesn't have a mailbox in the voicemail.
 
There is a patch for incoming dtmp tones not recognised if this is an IPKII with In-Mail. If this is In Skin VM I have not heard of this.
