We have an NEC SV8100. I have total access to the WebPro interface. We had a toll fraud hit us and now we need to disable all international calls (since we never use international calling) and remove any unused mailboxes and change all passwords. I do see in WebPro 21-05 Toll Restriction Class, 21-06-01 and 02 for the tables etc. The truth of the matter is, I have no clue what I am doing. The company that we purchased this from has gone out of business so no help there. On a side note, are there any training courses or online instructional sites/videos available? Thanks so much for any and all help!

Training is available to NEC authorized dealers. Have a look at the attached document. See if it helps. As far as the VM goes, which one do you have? The InMail CF, or the VM-00 blade? In either case, all VM boxes should have a security code, and any unused boxes, set to NONE, or deleted.

Once again Belevedere, you have come to my rescue. I thank you and I am sure Verizon thanks you too. As far as InMail CF or VM-00 blade, I have no idea. Again, if you need me to troubleshoot the network, config routers, WiFi, electronic entry, cameras etc. I am your guy. This phone system, I am not your guy but since it is what we have, and I am the IT guy, I get to take care of it too.

I figured it out. We have the InMail CF.

Delete any unused VM boxes in 47-02, set them to undefined, ot delete the extension assigned to it. Go to MB 47-20 and look for any outdial numbers going to intenational numbers and delete them as well. Uncheck outdial access also in 47-20.

Wow, I thought I had everything all set. Guess I got too carried away deleting "unused" VM boxes. When someone calls us and it goes to VM, they get the normal greeting, but then an announcement saying "that mailbox does not exist". I did see about 6 mailboxes that did not seem to match up with any extension, so I set them to Undefined. I have tried to set them back to Personal or Group, but I still get the same "that mailbox does not exist" when I call in. Any thoughts on what I did wrong and how to fix it? Again, thank you so much for all your help.

Newer software requires a mailbox password for access from the outside. With no password,it says', "that mailbox does not exist". Have the users log in and put a password into their mailbox.

Thank you so much for your speedy help! I can not tell you how much we appreciate your knowledge. Again, thank you.

One quick question for you Belevedere, or maybe not so quick... We are using this NEC SV8100 for a small private church/school. In total we have about 36 users, 5 copper lines coming to our system. Most of the phones are located in classrooms and do not get used at all. The teachers use their cell phones to make calls, text etc. Of the 36 users, maybe 8 office staff actually use their phones on a daily basis. We also have Fios Gigabit service coming into the building for Internet. In your opinion, should we keep our current system or should be look into replacing it? On a side note, the NEC does everything we want it to do and much, much more than we need it to do, so no issues there. However, whenever there is an issue with it, it is never a simple fix. A couple years ago, we even added a second network, all new switches just for the NEC system. The switches that we had were old and unreliable so we replaced them with Netgear Pro models, so no real issue with the network backbone itself. I am just wondering if we have an old, outdated system that should be replaced OR maybe we have a system that is a real workhorse and it will never die.

Although the 8100 has been retired in favor of the 9100 (you can upgrade), it is still a very usable feature rich system. If it does what you want, then there is no reason to replace it.
