Hey Guys,

Hopefully someone here can help me. We have a NEC SV8100 and I would like to set up the Night Service on it.
We have a professionally recorded message that I would like to upload to the system that plays out of hours.
So basically we would like the message to kick in from 5.30pm to 9am. We don't need it to ring, literally just play the message and we don't need voicemail.

I've had a play around and tried using the Wizard but I'm not sure of a lot of the settings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your help.

Mark.

Manual or automatic night switching?
Night mode plays an announcement then hangs up?

Hey Belevedere,

Thanks for coming back to me. Automatic Night that plays the announcement and then hangs up .....

Regards,

Mark.

CMD 12-01 check auto night
CMD 12-02 set night time entry 01(00:00-00:0800) to mode 2.
entry 02 (08:00-17:00) to mode 1.
entry 03 (17:00-00:00) to mode 2.
CMD 22-02 set all trunks for mode 2 to dil.
CMD 22-07 set all trunks to dil 299 for mode 2.
CMD 24-09 set 299 to call forward all (items 02/03/04/05) to VM 3999.
CMD 47-03 set group mailbox 01 to 299, routing 9.
CMD 47-07 verify routing mailbox 09 is set for announcement.
CMD 47-09 modify mailbox 09 options as you wish.
Record an announcement greeting for box 009. Press VM:00 button, dial 72 + 2 + 009 listen to prompts to record.
test.

Hey Belevedere,

Thank you so much for the instructions. All goes well as far as 47-03. I put 299 in "Mailbox Extension 01" and I put 9 in "Routing Mailbox". When I click Apply it says "There were errors when trying to apply the changes".

Everything else was fine up to this point.

Any ideas ?

Regards,

Mark.

Not sure about that. It works on my set up. Verify 299 is assigned as a virtual extension in 11-04.

Hey Beleveder,

That was the problem. 299 was set up as a normal extension so I deleted it and set it as a virtual ext in 11-04.

Should this kick in even if I haven't uploaded a message yet, just for testing ?

I have everything done (except for the message upload). But if I change the times in 12-02 so it looks like were in Night and call the main number from my mobile, it still rings ....

Thanks again for all of your help.

Don't change the times, just assign a night button to override the automatic night mode.

I know you're going to regret helping me on this one eh ??

How would I go about assigning a button for Night Service ??

Sorry !!!

MB 15-07, select the phone and button you want it on.
Select function 09, select "toggle between modes in 12-08", apply upload only your changes. On the upload GUI select the third square icon near the bottom left. That will upload only your changes. If you are using WEB Pro, then after uploading, disconnect from the system. Go back to the home page and click on disconnect. If you just close out the browser you will be locked out for approx 15 minutes, or have to reset the system.

Hey Bel,

I have no option to select "toggle between modes in 12-08", see attached pic ..

Hey Bel,

Thanks for coming back again .......

I don't know where to upload the message, what upload Gui do you mean ?

One other question. Without the message, should the Night Service still work ?
Everything is done as instructed but the phone still rings on all extensions within the scheduled Night Hours. Should that happen ?

Regards,

Mark.

Log in to the system using a web browser. Input the IP address of the system, use "USER1" + 1111 as the log in and password. These codes are in the manuals. Upload your message to the routing mailbox. The system will still function with default messages.
MB 12-02 sets the trunking mode/time as to when the modes change. So day rings phones and night goes straight to AA/VM. MB 47-12 determines what message is played at what time. MB 47-11 plays a message for all times and days that are not specified in 47-12. Programmed properly this should work.
