Hello,

I have one question about the issue that I currently have in regards to NEC SV8100.
After our previous phone company went out of business, I happen to take over the role for our phone system.
I am not a phone expert at all, and try hard to find out the solution. Finally, I ended up here.

There are multiple extension (STA) already in the system, and I have to change one or two extensions to be able to receive incoming calls from outside.
Currently, only 4 to 5 phones (extensions) are able to receive incoming calls from the outside, the rest are all for internal extension transfers.
Now, I need to change two extensions (which only works for internal extension calls/transfers) to be able to receive incoming calls from the outside (just like those 4 to 5 extensions which are able to do so).

The problem is that even if I add the extensions to receive incoming calls from outside (22-04: Incoming Ring Group Extension Assignment), the phone doesn't ring at all.
From WebPro, I tried adding two extensions on 22-04, but still not ringing for incoming calls.
I've searched web and found some post saying DID Translation Table has to be created or so, but I'm not a phone expert at all and do not know how to do it.

If there is an expert on this forum who could help me, please provide some solutions/suggestions.
The users of those two extensions are on night shift, and they need to receive incoming calls from outside.

Thank you very much.

Each phone needs the trunk appearances on the buttons, or a call appearance key. For starters, use the copy function in MB 15-07 and copy the buttons from a working phone. If it works, then you can go about the business of changing or customizing it. DID translation tables are used for SIP trunks or PRI circuits that pulse in the incoming number that gets sent to a specific extension. You did not provide enough information to assist with this. Up load a back up of your database here for better suggestions.

Hello,

The one that should receive incoming calls is STA 178.
(I need to configure this extension "STA 178" to be able to receive incoming calls from outside).

There are several extensions that can take incoming calls such as 101, 107, 181 and etc.
I basically need STA 178 to be able to receive incoming calls too.

Thank you.

All of the extensions listed in 22-04 will ring when the system is in the night mode (2) only (normal mode uses 22-05 + 22-04). Since you have 22-02 set to DID in day mode, it follows the DID translation tables in 22-11. Those tables are set to 'no transfer', therefore calls will only go to the extensions listed in the target number field. I do not see 181 or 178 listed in any ringing commands.
I would set the received number in 22-11 to (target = none) transfer target 1, operation mode busy/no answer. Transfer target 2 can be used to overflow to the auto attn. if you have one, or just leave it at 0.
EX:22-11-01 table 001, received number 3081, target number - blank, name - optional, transfer operation mode, busy/no answer, transfer target 1 = 1
22-04, list all extensions that are to ring for incoming digits 3081.

In your database, for the day mode (1), 22-11 tables;
0001 3081 101 New DID No Transfer
0002 1009 189 Able Ft. FAX No Transfer
0003 1000 202 A1 Call No Transfer
0004 8658 201 104th FAX No Transfer
0005 1388 204 Able Corp. No Transfer
0006 8883 204 Able Freight No Transfer
0007 1008 190 No Transfer
0008 3082 191 No Transfer
0009 3083 192 No Transfer
3081 rings 101, 1009 rings 189, 1000 rings 202, etc.
Should look like this;
0001 3081 New DID Busy/No Answer 1
In this case 3081 will ring all of the extensions listed in 22-04

Thank you very much for information.

I see it now.
So if I change those values and included ext 178 in incoming call group in 22-04, then 3081 will ring all extensions in 22-04 group.
I will try this.

I have a few question to ask.
Currently when there is incoming calls from outside, Ext 181 rings even if it is not listed in any ringing commands like you said.
What would make this extension to ring?

Another thing is from 22-11, the received numbers (3081, 1009, 1000 and etc).
What are these incoming digit numbers stand for?

Thank you.

Those digits are the last 4 numbers in your incoming phone number. XXX 3081, yyy 1009. Digits pulsed in from your telco provider.
I do not see where 181 is assigned any ringing. Verify it is in fact extension 181. Call another extension and verify in the LCD. I'll keep looking in your database, but right now I cannot answer that question.

DID 1388 is assigned to ring virtual extension 204. VE 204 appears and is assigned to ring on button 14 of extension 181. That is how it is ringing. DID 8883 is also set to ring on VE 204.
See MB 22-11, table entries 0005 and 0006

Thank you for your answer.
Now that I know that received numbers stand for the last 4 numbers in the incoming phone number.
Can this mean received number is the the last 4 digits of the company phone number?
Or is it the last 4 digit of the phone number which is calling from?

Let's assume that our company phone number is 777-7777.
If the DID translation table configuration is:

01 Received Number = 7777
02 Target Number = 123
etc....

Does this mean if customer calls our company from outside by dialing 777-7777 (our company phone number), this will be directed to ext. 123 and 123 will ring?

Another thing is, I copied the Function Key setting (15-07) of Ext. 181 and applied to Ext. 178 so that 178 is also set with VE 204 for key 14.
And then I dialed our company main phone number from my cell phone (the last 4 digit of company phone number is one of the received number for VE 204)
From 181, it receives the call.
From 178, nothing.
What will make this happen?

Please help.
Thank you.

Yes.
You also need to do 15-09, on x-178 button 14 to assign it to ring.

Thank you for your answer.

Wow, it works now after configuring 15-09 also as you said.
Thank you very much!!!
