Hi Guys

I have an NEC SL1100 phone system. Ive never used it to its full potential.

I have a multiline phone line that comes into the system. I have the nec telephone, and a dect cordless phone.

I can manage to record a voicemail, but i cant seem to get it to work. The phone still rings.

Ive tried the call forwarding to voicemail and that doesnt work either.

Can any one help?

Are you testing with an internal call or an outside call? I believe this system offers different forwarding options for internal VS. external calls.

Check the external call forwarding options. Verify it is set to go to VM on a busy and no answer condition.

how would i do this?

Sorry im not very clued up on this.

I have contacted the people who supplied the system and although i pay 380 per year maintenance apparently for them to come and look at it will be additional costs

I have 16 voicemail numbers within the phone. ranging from 304 to 555

Ive set the forwarding to immediate to 555.

The main screen display now says FWD IMME >> VOICE MAIL

But when i test from an external line the phone rings and doesnt go to voicemail

Ive tried with both the auto attended turned on and off

Make sure you are forwarding the calls to the voicemail pilot number and not one of the voicemail port extensions.

Go to Program 45-01-01 and it should tell you which department group the voicemail is.
Then go to Program 11-07 and check the extension assigned to that pilot number. That should be your voicemail pilot number and the extension you need to call forward to.

hi,

How to i get to the program 45-01-01

sorry im a complete novice

On on any phone press the Menu soft key and then 96 and press the third soft key that should say Select. You should see the IP Address of the SL1100. Type this IP Address into the URL field of a browser. It should give you a login page. Username: sltech (case sensitive) and Password: 12345678

Click on the system data icon and the left side of the page should have a lost of programs... 10-XX, 11-Xx, etc.

hi there

i can do everything up to getting the ip address....

i can only presume the system isnt linked into the network as it will not load

There is a network plug on the system. Do you have a laptop? Is it next to your network equipment where you connect it to your network? (DHCP is on by default so recheck the IP address if you do)

ive plugged into the lan socket on the system, that correct?

But the ip address still wont work

That would be correct.

Unless there are two LAN plugs. That would mean there is a VoIP Daughter Board installed and you should plug into the daughter board's LAN plug (the one closer to the front of the unit.) Unless you have IP phones or SIP trunks you wouldn't need a VoIP daughter board.

If you can't connect to the IP Address we're into networking territory. Did you manually assign an IP address to the laptop on the same network as the SL1100? Do you have a firewall running on the laptop? Can you ping the IP address of the phone system? Things like that.

I have a lan socket and a voip socket

I connected them direct to the router

Then i tried into the network switch

Still wouldnt repsond to the ip

Did you press Menu, 96, Select again after plugging the SL1100 into the network? By default it will be set to DHCP meaning that it will automatically grab an IP address from your network. If it wasn't plugged into the network the first time you looked at it, it has probably changed since you plugged it in to the network.

Yep

I pressed the same thing again, and the ip address was fixed to the same

Even left it for a while to sort itself out and still the same :(

Feels like im destined to have a phone system that will never work correctly lol

Does anyone do freelance SL1100 programming? I manage networks and software but don't know anything about the SL1100 and one of my customers is in desperate need of help. I think they purchased it thinking it would be easy to configure. We're in NJ and should be able to get the SL1100 on the network ready for a remote session.

Thanks in advance for teh help.

I'd be happy to help. If it is just programming the system it shouldn't take more than an hour.
