Hi Guys,

I'm and experince PABX Tech looking to train myself up on current NEC phone systems, in particular the NEC SL1100, NEC SV9100 and NEC SV8100.

My question is do the above systems all have a different peogramming interface?
Is it like the Avaya where both the IP 500 and IP406 both have the same programming all are they all completley different and I would have to learn each one seperately?

Also any recommendations on places to do a course and get certified here in Sydney?

Thanks.

Regards,

Chris

The actual program blocks are the same, but the programming interface is different. You can always use a web interface, but you lose the ability to get a database back up off the system for emergencies. Passwords are different, but you can find them in the manuals.

Hi Belvedere,

Thanks for response.
Just need a little more detail - so if i were to purchase an SV8100 and oractise configuring system from scratch, would these also be enough for me to program an SV9100, or should i purchase both (the SV9100 is still quiet expensive)?

As for the SL1100 thats completley different altogether isnt it and I should buy that cabinet specifically to practise on?

All three systems use the same programming. Each has some additional features that the other does not. The sl1100 is the smaller less expensive system and can be bought from an NEC reseller. The maintenance program can be found on line and downloaded for free. The hardware is different. The 8100 and 9100 systems can only be bought from an NEC dealer. Interconnects that sell install and service. The maintenance program can be obtained only from a dealer. All of the systems can be programmed from a web interface. As long as you know the log in and password you can get in and set the systems up.
