We had our phone guy leave and I got thrown into supporting the phone systems (sysadmin by day) until we get a new guy. We have a support contact with a NEC vendor - but I want to try to do as much as I can on my own (and maybe learn a thing or two). Feel free to respond with any help docs etc that might help be learn. This current issue is perplexing me though...
Environment:
NEC SC8500PBX, Dterm Series i 2-Button Phone
Problem:
x5792 has no keys assigned (AKYD) and cannot put anyone on hold. The number can call and receive no problem. When I go to set the keys I get the error: AKYD.SET 01:0201 Station/Trunk is not assigned yet.
Additional details:
ASDT (Assign Station) is set, if I try to delete (to reset) I get the following error: Command Error. ASDT.DEL 01:2A6, Call pick-up group exists. I'm guessing on this part: DSTN (Display Station Data) reports back that is is part of 8 CNT (call groups?), if I click CPG I see 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 listed with various stations of the same department.
Solution:
I am reluctant to try this, but I am tempted to remove it from all call groups, delete the station assignment, and reassign it and add it back to the groups after I assign the keys. Any help would be appreciated.
