I'm new to PBX systems. When one extension is dialed, a different extension rings as well. How do I stop it from ringing at the 2nd extension??? I have the manual but can't figure out how to execute the commands or which command controls this function. I have the NEC NEAX 2000 IVS. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What are you using to do your programming,Matworx Studio is what I use. It sounds like you have a phone that has the same two numbers programmed in the key data.

like wayne said look at key data, and need to know how your are programming. If you want to have the appearence of one number but no ringing, turn off the ringing in 9001.

I don't know which software is being used, but I'll check today. I also have the phone with the display. I fooled with call forwarding but that's not the solution. i.e. When ext. 1212 is called, line 1 on 1212 rings, simultaneously line 1227 rings on line 7 and vice versa. I hope I'm explaining this in detail. Hope you guys are able to help me out from this....I'll post the software when I find out what it is or if you have a solution from the phone with the LED Display. Thanks!!!

What it sounds like is that you wanted busy line field buttons on a phone and just didnt turn off the ringing. You can either take the appearence key off the phones, or turn the ringing off through programming, that way they can see when that line is in use, but wont hear the ringing. Do you know how to make changes using CAT mode? I know that you said you were new to PBX systems.

Jhenke,
No, I do not know how to change this using CAT mode. CAT mode is through the phone with the LED display right? I would just like to turn off the ringing, but if I could cancel the simultaneous ringing altogether, that would be even better. I have a partial manual but don't understand a bit of it. Please help.....

You MUST do the this from a telephone that is not in use

press: trans conf * trans conf #
will display CAT MODE

press: redial or LNR/SD
will display COMMAND

press: 9 0 0 1 then recall
will display 9001>
press: 1 2 2 7 (transfer = ,) 0 7 (button number) then recall
will display 1212,01:X- (X is a 0 or a 1)

press: 0 to disable ringing, 1 to enable, then conf
will say OK

If you get DATA ERROR or enter a wrong number, hit redial (LNR/SD) to go back to COMMAND =, and then start over. Once you are finished pick up the handset and hangup.

Good luck
Henke

Henke,

You're the greatest!!!! It worked exactly as you directed.

If I may ask you one other question...some phones have the blinker for voicemails lighting up, but when we call the voicemail, it says there are no messages. How do I corect this?

that(grateful)MISguy for JHenke's help!!!

jhenke

I tried speaker * 3 3 speaker, that didn't work. I tried >9000 ext. , 09 CCC-. That did not work as well. Do you or anyone else have any other suggestions using CAT mode? Any help is greatly appreciated

you will have to check CMD 200 and find out the code assigned the value A146. This is message reminder search and once you have that code dial it followed by 3 into the telephone with the flashing light. *3 would appear to be the common code used there, here we use *# but yours would appear to be non standard. If you can't find the code just assign A146 to a vacant code and use that.

OzzieGeorge,

this must be done at the station or can it be done from the phone with the LED/Cat mode using the ext of the line in question? The phones at the stations are 8 button phones without LED displays. I wouldn't know where to begin to do the prgramming from the actual problem phones.

OzzieGeorge,

I went into CMD 200>A146 and this is what is displayed:
200>A146:WRONG-
how do I clear it from what is programmed there already?
I tried 200>A146:WRONG- CCC CNF(EXE).... same result.

Programming in the IVS 2000 can only be done using either the MAT program or MOC mode, wish is the one that Ozzziegorge is telling you.
In the case of MOC you will need to use a Digital phone with display to program the PBX (doesn’t matter wish digital port it is) and follow this steps:
1. ENTER feature conf * feature conf # redial
(it suppose to say command =)
2. ENTER 200 recall
( 200> )
3. ENTER the number of the code you want to use to clear the MWL LED ex. 64 and then recall
(200>64-)
4. ENTER A146 and then conf
(now you shuld have 200>64:A146)
5. HIT answer and off hook- on hook the hand set
now you have code 64 for retrieving messages.

6 Take the digital phone with Display with you to the extension that has the MWL on.
Unplug the phone without display and plug the display phone in so you can see who and when did somebody turned the LED on
After you dial speaker 64 it will show you the info. Then dial 3 to cancel the LED
I hope this can help you out, body

You are not entering the code you want to use to clear leds that’s why it’s telling you WRONG.

Carlos,

When I enter the available code i.e. 64 and enter A146... when I get to the 6 key before pressing the CNF key it gives me an error saying digit error.????

I’m sorry I’m giving you the IVS 2 code.
The code for a regular IVS is A46 instead of A146.
Try that and let me know

this is what happens...
I,
1. ENTER feature conf * feature conf # redial
(it suppose to say command =)
2. ENTER 200 recall
( 200> )
3. ENTER the number of the code you want to use to clear the MWL LED ex. 64 and then recall
(200>64-)
when I press A14... then get to 6 it immediately goes to Digit Error
