What is needed to provide caller ID hardware and software please? Also will caller ID be passed through the Auto Attendant to telephone set?

Thanks
Ron

I believed 1500 Series or higher. A 4RSTC AP card and a 4COTG trunk card are needed.

Will caller ID be passed through the Auto Attendant to telephone set?

What program would I use to find what series s/w I have in the MOC mode?

Thanks
Ron

Cmd F85 de FF02 de then step on to FF03, FF04 & FF05 This will give you something like 2750-A1-0006-08 Basically 4 sets of numbers that make up your software level!

Thanks OzzieGeorge and neax. OG after I put in FF02 I get "CODE NOT USED" I don't have a password set. "What gives"

Thanks
Ron

You probably have an older IVS system. The CMD for that is F82 de 0 de. The result is a coded number equating to the software level.
the first set of numbers are:
03 = 850
04 = 1000
05 = 1200
07 = 1300
oA = 1500
14 = 1600
16 = 1700
19 = 1800
1A = 1900 r1
1C = 1900 r2

Basically you have the original unbundled version of the software. This can be a major drawback or a blessing in disguise! If you want a recent feature you are basically screwed. However if you want to do something completely different like No7 to another system then the software is totally open and no problem! However as what you want to do is in the former category, you fall into the screwed category.

It may be worth considering selling your CPU! You can probably buy second hand a CPU that will do what you want. The thing is your CPU (if it is unbundled) may be more valuable as it would allow others to do things that would cost big dollars. I will however add a rider to that and that is that NEC only sell the software with a licence to use. So technically you can't sell your CPU and you can't buy a second hand one!

The ball is in your court!

Thanks Belevedere and OG. What level of s/w would I need to support caller ID?

Thanks
Ron

On the old IVS you would need 1820 or 1830 software as a minimum. CMD F63 de 05fff67 de the first two digits tell you what level the 1800 is. 02, or 03 is what you would need. However, CMD F83 de 0 de needs to have an IVR number to activate the CPU advanced features. This number can no longer be obtained from NEC. The number is also wiped out if you default the CPU or store it for a long period of time with no power. Obtaining a CPU in the secondary market is taking a risk. given that the IVS and IVS2 systems are MFGR. discontinued, you would be bettor off accepting that you got your money's worth on the system and purchase a new one.

Thanks again Belevedere. This helps me for future requests from this customer.
