IS-IT--Management
Hello,
I am currently managing an NEC IPK II PBX. I've done a decent amount of reading/investigating to identify how calls flow in our system but a few things still elude my grasp. Calls come in on Trunk Group (CMD14-05) and that rings virtual extension 301 (CMD22-07). After 18 seconds (CMD22-01-04) the call transfers to System Mailbox 001 but I have no idea how this happens as (CMD24-09) for Ext 301 is set to “No Call Forward”. After that the message for mailbox 001 plays and then transfers to virtual extension 300 (CMD47-13 “Timeout”??). Then the call rings with a different ring tone on all stations that have a Virtual Extension Key = 300 (CMD15-07) and has ring assignment selected in (CMD15-09). Now I have read a few forums that state (CMD22-01-04) is the timer for sending incoming calls on POTS lines to the Auto Attendant. If this is true, is there any other configuration that ties VEx 301 to System Mailbox 001 or is the Auto Attendant automatically on 301?
The other mapping I can’t wrap my head around yet is the ring group. Most of our phones ring on incoming trunk calls because they all have VEx 301 as function key #1 (CMD15-07 & 15-09) yet in (CMD22-04), several extensions are listed in ring group #1. My phone rings occasionally with a different tone but none of the function keys light up. Is this because i'm listed in (CMD22-04)?
Also, In (CMD22-05), all trunks and modes are = 1. In CMD22-08 though, Truck 1-4 = 102 (I don’t think 102 references an extension) yet all other options are = 1. Now the language here doesn’t say Trunk groups, just trunk so would that mean that the other two trunks (5&6) are not being used here or misconfigured? CMD22-07 has Trunk 1-7 all set to VEx 301.
To me it feels like I am missing a few CMD locations to tie all of these things together. Any insight or assistance is appreciated. Thank you for your time!
