Good Afternoon

Does anyone remember how to change main greeting on a NEC I-series system

Thanks for the help!

Exactly which NEC system do you have, and which voice mail?
If it's an InMail, press a VM softkey, dial 72 + 4 + 001/002/003 etc. Assuming that phone has admin rights.

Not sure apparently our company installed one of these twenty years ago and we have not talked to the customer since nor have they tried to change the greeting. I remember these being very similar to the DSX-80 other than the setting to make the phone ring. I will try what you showed up top and let you know. thanks for the help

On our nec iseries systems we would install the NVM 202 as auto attendant. For this you would go to extension 301 enter the MB then press SA the enter 802 for the main day greeting and 803 for the night greeting.

If you are referring to the series I phones, they worked on IPK, IPS and IPX systems. For the most part they used Active Voice VM systems, or NEC branded AD-40.
Those VM systems used the Sandy Simmons box with transaction boxes that had the greetings, or in the OPEN box.
We need more information.

Is it a Nitsuko/NEC 124I, 384I or a 704I. If so it probably has an external VM server typically the NVM or a CTL Model 3.
