Here is my issue: There is a group of phones in one department that all ring when extension 711 (DID xxx-7711) rings from outside callers. I just added another phone to this department, but it must have previously been in another department so it is not ringing correctly. I temporarily have the guy doing a call pickup, but I need to fix this. I have the manual and have really gone through it, but I do not know the terminology in NEC speak to add this guy to what I would call a Ring Group. Can someone tell me which program I should use to accomplish this?
Thank you.

I believe it is an IPK-II, not on site right now, can double check. 2 dark gray cabinets, if that helps.

The type of CPU will tell. Look for a LAN connection on the front of it. That would be an IPK-II. Also note the designation on the card.
Press FNC + 3 on any phone to determine CPU rev. That would also tell what you have.

the phone needs the phantom button 711 assigned to the phone and it needs to ring

How do I program a phantom button? Is that the terminology? I never saw that in the manual.
SP 1033 R302 R3 192P This is what shows up with a FNC 3

Look at one of the phones that is working. Notice which line key the call comes in on, and where it goes when answered.
Go into the key data of that phone and see what is assigned on the button. Match it to the new station.
You could also determine what is under the button by pressing FNC + that line key while the phone is idle.
If 711 is a virtual or software based extension, then in either system, IPK or IPK-II it is called an SIE key (secondary incoming extension).

That's helpful. They actually have an old crappy phone sitting on the floor with a sign on it that says DO NOT UNPLUG, and that is 711. This place is a disaster. Every phone I touch has a bad handset, or a bad cord, or no display, or a broken base, or broken keypad, or.....
And there are about 50 phones like this. oy vey!!
I will try this, although I am not sure how to assign the button. I will look it up. Or give me advice please and thanks.

Thanks so much. I have a manual, will check it out. Thanks.

That worked great. Thanks!
Thanks for the link, found a manual I was really having a hard time finding.
