I would like to place 3 loop-start CO trunks as buttons on ten 8 button display phones (similar to private line I think)and use the other buttons as 'busy indicators' for the other phones. I have the feature book but I am not having much luck. I am setting this system up from scratch.
I would be happy to assist with any Avaya questions.
Thanks in advance.

In th e Elite system, you can accomplish this by going to memory block 4-12, select the approiate port number and use line key 2 to select the CO ports you want for each button and then select line key 6 to assign "feature access" keys. You can also use the copy mode feature if all of your phones are going to be IDENTICAL, but be sure to go thru every command in memory block 4-XX before using this feature.
The feature access keys define user programmable keys and after assigned, must be programmed from each phone as per the user guide. (Depress Feature button, Depress Key to be programmed, then dial 1 to indicate an extention number followed by the specific extention that you want to appear).
