Hello,

I've been working on this switch for a little bit now and I can't figure out which memory location to change for a couple things.

1. When the someone is calling into the phone switch and the target phone is ringing I want to be able to pick up the phone and only get the intercom ring but not pick up the call.

2. I have a phone on the system that I want to actually ring when someone calls the system. As far as I can figure out all 4 incoming CO's are set to the phone and the line lights will flash when someone calls the system, but it will not ring. Is there a memory location I should check for this?

Now my finally question is just for determining the extensions for programming. Using the Dterm phone at extension 100, you can only see two characters for the extensions even though the numbers start at 100 and go up. According to the manual you need to insert an A, B, or C depending on the extension. Well, the phone I'm using will not display A1 for 101 but will only display 01 even though I press "Answer, 1"(I think Answer was the key). Is that ok?

Thanks for the help!

Sean

1. Hmmm... if the phone is ringing, and you pick it up, it wants to answer the call. Not sure how to get around that one.

2. If you're sure it's set to ring, press the UP arrow while it's ringing; the ringer volume is probably turned down.

3. You sure you're looking in the right place? You should be in MB 4-10... if you're seeing on the display something like 01/01 - and you're talking about THOSE two numbers, you're looking at the port number, not the station number.

A couple of notes for you to look at.

Item 1 is called Ringing Line Preference. You can use Program 4-11 to turn this feature off and on per port

Item 2 to turn ringing on and off use program 4-01 for Day and 4-02 for night. this is also a per port program

As far as finding the extension to port number assignment the ports go from 01 to 99 then A0 to A9, B0 to B9, and C0. A0 through A9 = extensions 100 - 109 B0 through B9 = ports 110-119, C0 = Port 120. If you have a display phone you can press Feature (FNC) 4 and it will show you onthe display Extension = Port #

By default
port 01 = extension 100
Post 02 = extension 101
Port 03 = extension 102.....and so on

I also want to ask, is there a way through the unit to record the number of incoming calls? Or will that require another unit?

What you're looking for is a PEG count. I *think* the 48 will do it....

I don't believe any of the Elite 48, 192, or IPK's will do a peg count like the NEAX. The only way I have been able to get an accurate count is to install a MIFM card and capture the SMDR data for incoming and outgoing calls. You could then print out that data on a serial printer, or connect to a PC and use some call accounting software to give you reports.
